Large and heavy black slate and marble quality mantel clock. Japy Freres & Co (FRENCH). This circa 1800 rare clock is 16 1/2" wide, 8 1/4" tall, and 7 1/2 deep.
WEIGHS 35 lbs 5 oz... The slate cemented case is in good condition with no chips or cracks. It has some light spots on the slate it which could probably be polished out. It is bright gold and white. The back of the escapement does have two chips in the porcelain.
(see pictures) The beveled glass is in great shape with no cracks or chips. The gold and burgundy designs still looks great.
It has no pendulum, or bell, and has not been tested. One of the back screws is missing. It will be protected well and insured. Let me know if you have any questions.
