Offered Here is a RARE hard to find all original 19th century Cast Iron Barler's Shine Cabinet. This is solid cast iron with a drop down front that was used as a foot rest while polishing shoes.
It has a fancy front marked Barler's Shine Cabinet with a knob at the top for dropping the front down. There is a compartment on the inside for a bottle of polish and a tin of polish at the tip of the drop down. The cabinet measures 15" in height by 4 1/2" wide and is 3 1/2 deep. It is marked for Huette Barler Mfg. Chicago and dated on the inside for 1893.This cabinet is in very good condition with one slight crack at the top mount that does not show and in no way affects the strength or integrity of this Scarce artifact. The last two photos show an add for the cabinet and also one that was mounted in a turn of the century home. The cabinet weighs a substantial 6 1/2 pounds before packing and will come with the shoe polish tin and the bottle of shoe polish. Please view and enlarge all photos to further aid in description.
