Rare antique 1800's French ornate black cast iron fireplace coal scuttle bin

  

Up for sale is a very high quality antique mid 19th century cast iron French coal scuttle. It's made of extremely thick iron, is a heavy piece, and finished with a deep black color. The hinged lid features a very ornate design done in high relief and has a handle on the end along with a small heat vent opening. It has a beautiful tri-footed cast iron base with great ribbed legs. It's in nice antique condition and measures 19 inches long by 12 1/2 inches wide by 12 inches tall.
