It is a stable panel. Made of heavy cast iron with no signs of wear. Open bottom for easy bulb access. Shades are held on by two screws under the roof line.
Made by Herwig back in the early part of the 20th century. Light is heavy well made.Light is mounted with 2 screws in the back plate. Light was rewired with new 18 guage wire for safety. Vintage original porcelain two piece lamp socket was reused. View all the pictures for condition as they are an important part of the description. Last picture is the light shown in a antique Herwig catalog. At time of listing I had two lights. Light will install on a number of different house styles including Arts & Craft to mission.
